Boys are funny…

The other day Nick and I were in the car and out of the blue he says “Mom, I sure am glad I’ve never ‘taken one’ in the testicles in PE class.”  Totally deadpan…strait out of the mouth of babes!!!!!  It was a good thing he was sitting in the back so he couldn’t see my face.  I couldn’t talk for a couple of minutes!!!!

Winter Wonderland

 Well, we survived the Christmas vacation here and Nick goes back to school today.  It snowed another mess on us last night so he has a late start of it.  We were outside on New Years day taking photos…

A 70-year-old man goes to the doctor’s for a physical.
The doctor runs some tests and says to the man, “Well, everything seems to be in top condition physically, but what about mentally? How is your connection with God?”And the man says, “Oh me and God? Every night when I have to get up to go to the bathroom, he turns on the light for me, and then, when I leave, he turns it back off.”Well, upon hearing this the doctor was astonished.He called the man’s wife and said, “I’d like to speak to you about your husband’s connection with God. He claims that every night when he needs to use the restroom, God turns on the light for him and turns it off for him again when he leaves. My Little Hero

After about 3 weeks of coasting and practicing he taught himself to ride his bike!!!!

I am so amazed at how fast they have grown and how much they change in such a short time! I am so blessed by them and they continue to be a daily reminder to me of God’s grace and love!

If you have come across “bubbasmom” on the profile page and have been wondering where that comes from…

I always swore my child would NEVER be called Bubba or JR!!! Darn rednecks! But somehow it has happened…Nick is Bubba and Tony is Booboo…and don’t even think of accidentally calling Tony Bubba ’cause Nick will let you know!!!!  BTW…Tony was NOT a booboo…he was well planned…its more in reference to Yogi’s buddy…he’s our little booboo:).

On to other things to update you on…sadly the lilacs have passed…but the iris’ are in bloom!  My grandmother planted these at least 20 yrs ago…and they thrive!  We are so blessed to be able to live here and enjoy the beautiful landscape.

And summer begins

We have been getting ready for summer around here…started with a lawn that was about a foot long because the mower broke.  Fred was a saint!!! It took almost three full days but he got it mowed in time for family and friends to join us for an awesome bbq!  I have been learning some things about gardening…Nick is outside playing from dawn to dusk-LITERALLY…and Tony loves digging in dirt.
